If there are no closeup pictures, ask the seller for the original receipt. Although receipts can be fabricated, the sales associates number and the date of purchase cannot. If it is a second-hand Gucci bag, call the store where the original purse was sold to verify the purchase. Step 3 – Look for inferior quality zippers, hardware, and clasps. Gucci bags use thick and sturdy brass hardware in the construction of their purses.
Inspect the back of the YKK zipper. Examine the fake bag for the use of cheap plastic zippers instead of sturdy metal YKK zippers. If the handbag’s clasps are hard to fasten, the bag is fake.

Every Gucci bag or Gucci Backpack is constructed from the finest materials–leathers, suedes, patent leather, and canvas. The stitching on the outside seams of the bag should be uniform, and the bag should feel soft and supple to the touch.

It has the “circled R” however, I have been reading your post and there should be 2 serial numbers one at the top and one at the bottom. This bag does not have that it has 1 serial number on the back of the inside label 89.02.062 ALSO under that tag is a colorful tag (practically torn out) with numbers 63101 and in all capital letters the word CERTIFICATION is on the label. Again, it’s really worn out and difficult to rad. I have always been interested in knowing if this bag is real because I received so many compliments when I carry it.

It should not be unique to the bag. For example, if you are buying a black Gucci Soho bag, the two rows of numbers will be the same on every Soho bag sold that season, from that particular batch of Gucci products.
To authenticate the bag yourself, do a quick Google search of the serial number or the model number. The authentic bag will show in Google Images and on GUCCI.com of a similar bag. That matches the pictures online. The numbers are straight and neat.
It has a hard credit style card with it, the zips are metal and good quality (the leather zip tag may have something written on it or just a faint pattern, I can’t tell), the lining is thick dark brown heavy cotton and all the stitching is excellent., although lighter brown than some examples I’ve seen online. The only thing concerning me is that the binding around the top of the bag opening appears to be dark brown synthetic material.

The Gucci letters, made in Italy and the R trademark symbol on the lower left side of the credit card pocket is a sign of authenticity. So, I am sure that this part of the wallet is real. I know that the inside of the zipper has a leather pull tab without any Gucci lettering on the back of the tab. And the back of the YKK zipper should have the words GUCCI imprinted without the R trademark symbol.
But as far as the cursive writing on the bottom of the zipper, I’d have to see an image of the outside zipper to be sure. If so, this bag might not have a leather tag with the serial number imprinted on it because it is considered a wallet with a chain, and not a purse. None of my Gucci wallets have any serial numbers in them, so this is my best, educated guess without seeing the bag. If you are looking to sell the wallet/purse, take as many pictures as you can to help the buyer feel comfortable with their purchase, especially if you don’t have a copy of the receipt or the original Gucci box or price tag that was sold with the bag. Kate May 9, 2017 at 11:49 pm Hi Mechele – I found a Gucci bag at a thrift shop (crazy) and I do believe it’s real. I’ve tried to search online but I only find the bag from an eBay Japan post, and not the same exterior. It’s a dark brown tote/shopper. The stitching, font, zips, all look excellent. There is a zip pocket along the bottom of the bag that’s very subtle, looks like a seam but is a zip. There is a leather tie that is threaded through near the top and has silver hardware at the ends. The tag numbers are: 002-1052 001998 It folds flat and I seriously love it.

Without seeing a picture of the bag, or determining it’s price, I still believe that it is a replica. Don’t buy it! Here’s why: I don’t see an authentic Gucci Bloom Purse with this style number on Gucci.com. (The gucci bloom style is not vintage, so the authentic style and serial numbers should be readily available on the internet.) The first set of numbers you provided (409527) refer to a Gucci top handle or doctor’s shape bag.
So if you are not purchasing a top-handled purse, this could be a fake. Also, The last four digits you provided aren’t identical to the last 4 digits of the Gucci bloom purses on the GUCCI site.

The R in a circle, or the registered trademark sign, is located on the top of the GUCCI logo imprinted on the leather tag. Red and green strap, metal fittings. Under the larger red flap is velcro, under the smaller is a zip, though nylon.
Stitching is perfect on entire bag, the lining is has Gucci all over it on an angel, both right way up and upside down. Gucci Made in Italy stamped into the leather of the larger flap and the metal clip. I was wonder if it is real or fake.

There’s no reason not to do your due diligence before you purchase this pricey, yet beautiful bag. Also, the price of the shoulder bag that the seller is asking for will give you distinct clues to its authenticity.

I need to know what type of bag you have in order to help you authenticate it. As far as the lower number having four digits, this is common in the newer bags such as this GG Supreme tote:. As you can see, its style number is Style 415721 and its lower number is 9784. Because counterfeiters can copy Gucci’s serial and style numbers, I would have to see images of the purse, the handles, hardware and the leather tag inside the bag, to be sure that it is real. Hopefully, you can return it, before the store’s deadline if you think the purse if fake.
